Garena's popular mobile battle royale, Free Fire, is set to make waves again at the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025 in Riyadh, with a hefty $1 million prize pool up for grabs. This marks a continuation of the multi-year partnership with EWC, promising fans another exhilarating event in 2026.
Mark your calendars for July 16th to 20th, as 18 of the world's top Free Fire squads will battle it out. The tournament kicks off with a group stage, dividing teams into three groups of six. The top twelve will advance to the Point-Rush stage, leading to the Grand Final, where the champion will be decided using the match point format. An additional $10,000 MVP bonus awaits the standout individual performer of the tournament.

Returning to defend their title are Team Falcons, who dazzled at the 2024 EWC by becoming the inaugural Free Fire champions. Despite a sluggish start in the Point-Rush stage, they clinched victory with two crucial Booyahs in the finals, securing the trophy and a spot at the World Series in Rio.
Qualifiers are already heating up. The FFWS SEA concludes on June 14th, sending eight teams to Riyadh. LATAM and Brazil will contribute two and four teams, respectively, by June 1st and June 22nd. Additionally, one team each from Pakistan, the FF MSC, and Bangladesh will qualify. Team Falcons, as defending champions, have an automatic return.
