Ned Luke, the voice behind GTA 5's Michael De Santa, has shared his bold prediction that GTA 6 will rake in a staggering $1.3 billion on its first day. In a candid interview with the YouTube channel Fall Damage, Luke expressed his excitement about the upcoming GTA 6, emphasizing that the game will be nothing short of fantastic due to Rockstar Games' penchant for surprises.

Luke encouraged fans to remain patient, stating, "What I tell people is, be patient. It's going to be worth the wait. From what I've seen, it's going to be amazing." He highlighted that GTA 5 amassed over $800 million within its first 24 hours back in 2013, confidently predicting that GTA 6 will surpass these figures significantly.

According to DFC Intelligence, a research firm, GTA 6 is projected to sell over 40 million copies and generate $3.2 billion in its debut year, with $1 billion stemming solely from pre-orders.

The Future Of GTA 5 Characters In GTA 6

Luke also shed light on the potential return of GTA 5 characters in GTA Online and possibly in GTA 6. He noted that his character, Michael, has been absent from GTA Online since its inception, unlike the other protagonists, Trevor and Franklin, who have made appearances.

Luke hinted at the possibility of Michael featuring in a speculated final DLC for GTA Online or even making a comeback in GTA 6. Steven Ogg, who portrayed Trevor in GTA 5, shared with ScreenRant in January 2025 his vision for Trevor's role in GTA 6, suggesting a dramatic "passing the torch" moment where Trevor meets his end early in the game.

"Maybe [Michael, Franklin, and Trevor will be] in GTA 6, like [its online mode]. Maybe. Maybe not. You know Rockstar is not going to tell you anything. And if we say anything, you know they will not be very happy," Luke remarked. Despite the enthusiasm from both actors to reprise their roles, no official confirmation has been made regarding the characters' inclusion in GTA 6.

GTA 6 May Be At Its Testing Phase

Former Rockstar Games Animator Mike York suggested that GTA 6 is currently in its in-house testing phase. In a now-deleted video interview with YouTuber Kiwi Talkz, as reported by GamesRadar, York discussed the unique nature of GTA 6 and its development status.

York emphasized the game's unpredictability, stating, "There are a lot of things that can happen that you don't really think about until some random kid in his basement tries it, you know? You really don't." He believes that GTA 6 is undergoing in-house testing, with developers still adding final touches and extras.

York also speculated that the game is at least playable at this stage, suggesting that numerous testers may have already experienced it.

Rockstar Games unveiled the first trailer for GTA 6 in December 2023, but has since remained tight-lipped about further details. Reports from Take-Two Interactive’s Financial Report in 2024 hinted at a Fall 2025 release for GTA 6, though no official release date has been announced.
