Krysten Ritter Confirmed to Reprise Jessica Jones Role in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2

Krysten Ritter is set to reprise her role as Jessica Jones in the eagerly anticipated second season of Daredevil: Born Again. The exciting news broke during Disney's Upfront presentation in New York, as reported by Variety, putting an end to months of speculation and rumors about the potential return of the Netflix Defenders to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Ritter, joined by her Daredevil and The Defenders co-star Charlie Cox, shared her enthusiasm for stepping back into the shoes of the hard-hitting private investigator. "It’s so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and The Defenders and now joining the MCU," Ritter expressed. "I’m so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones. This is going to be an incredible season!"

Following two additional seasons and a stint in The Defenders, her portrayal seemed to reach its conclusion as Netflix's Marvel programming era came to an end. However, Disney's reacquisition of certain character rights in 2021, including those of Jessica Jones, sparked renewed interest in seeing Ritter return to the role.

The return of Charlie Cox as Daredevil in Spider-Man: No Way Home and his subsequent starring role in Daredevil: Born Again further fueled fan theories about the potential reintegration of other Netflix heroes into the MCU.
