Hot on the heels of announcing 26 new cast members for the eagerly awaited *Avengers: Doomsday*, Marvel Studios and Robert Downey Jr. have hinted that the surprises are far from over. In a detailed livestream yesterday, Marvel revealed a comprehensive list of actors who will join Robert Downey Jr. in the superhero epic, alongside the commencement of production.

However, some notable Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) stars are conspicuously missing from the roster. Tom Holland's Spider-Man is absent, as is Chris Evans, who had been rumored to appear in either *Avengers: Doomsday* or *Secret Wars*. Evans later debunked those rumors. Other missing characters include Hulk, Hawkeye, Nick Fury, Rhodey, and on the X-Men front, Deadpool, Wolverine, Storm, and Jean Grey.

Fans expressed their disappointment over the absence of these favorites, but hope remains. Following the announcement, Robert Downey Jr., who will portray Doctor Doom after years of leading the MCU as Iron Man, teased on Instagram that there's more to come. "That’s what u call a deep bench of talent," RDJ said. "Actually it’s more like a row, but an extra long one… That must be it.. right?"

Marvel added to the intrigue in the comments, stating "there's always room for more." The Russo Brothers, directors of the film, chimed in with, "It’s time…"

It's clear that Marvel isn't finished unveiling the *Avengers: Doomsday* cast. Who else might join the fray? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Earlier this month, the Russo brothers described *Avengers 5* and *6* as a "new beginning," setting the stage for Phase 7 of the MCU. "The only thing I’ll say about the movie is this: we love villains who think they’re the heroes of their own stories," Joe Russo remarked. "That’s when they become three-dimensional and they become more interesting. When you have an actor like Robert Downey, you have to create a three-dimensional, well-shaped character for the audience. That’s where a lot of our focus is going."

*Avengers: Doomsday* is slated for release on May 1, 2026, with *Secret Wars* following in May 2027. Before these, *Thunderbolts* will hit theaters in May 2025, the TV series *Ironheart* will premiere in June, and Phase 6 will kick off with *The Fantastic Four: First Steps* in July.

In October, Marvel Studios announced three untitled movie projects for 2028, scheduled for February 18, May 5, and November 10. It's increasingly speculated that one of these could be an *X-Men* film.
