The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered brings a fresh take on Bethesda's classic with enhanced visuals, updated gameplay mechanics, and more. However, the team at Virtuos ensured that one of the original's most iconic moments remained untouched: the infamous voice acting blooper by Master Speechcraft trainer Tandilwe.
Veteran fans of The Elder Scrolls series are well-acquainted with Tandilwe, the High Elf found in the Temple of the One in the Imperial City. When Oblivion first launched on PC and Xbox 360 over 19 years ago, it was evident that Tandilwe's speech could use some refinement. Her voice line, featuring actress Linda Kenyon's apparent second attempt at a line, became a beloved flub among the community.

As players ventured into a revitalized Cyrodiil yesterday, many were eager to discover how faithful the ground-up remaster would be. While numerous environments, character models, and items have received significant upgrades, fans are thrilled to see that many of the original game's charming quirks, including Tandilwe’s hilarious blooper, have been preserved. The voice acting flub remains just as it was nearly two decades ago, complete with the absence of subtitles.

In a 2019 interview with YouTube channel Jake 'The Voice' Parr, Linda Kenyon humorously defended herself regarding the blooper, stating, "It wasn't my fault!"
While the thousands of players diving into Oblivion Remastered debate whether the re-release is more of a remake than a remaster, many appreciate the decision to keep much of the original game's charm intact. Bethesda and Virtuos made a conscious effort to maintain these elements, and the reception from both new and veteran players has been overwhelmingly positive.
