Path of Exile 2's Early Access release has players eager to master their chosen classes. While not technically subclasses, Ascendancies provide unique specializations and abilities. This guide details how to unlock and utilize them.

Unlocking Ascendancies

To unlock Ascendancy Classes, players must complete a Trial of Ascendancy. Currently, the Act 2 Trial of the Sekhemas and the Act 3 Trial of Chaos are available. Completing either unlocks Ascendancy selection and awards two passive Ascendancy Points. The earlier Act 2 trial is recommended for quicker access to enhanced abilities.

Available Ascendancies

Currently, six classes offer two Ascendancy choices each. More classes and Ascendancies are planned for full release.

Mercenary:

Witch Hunter: A buff-focused Ascendancy boosting offense, defense, and battlefield control. Skills like Culling Strike and No Mercy enhance damage output. Ideal for players who enjoy debuffing enemies for increased damage.
Gemling Legionnaire: This Ascendancy centers on Skill Gems, allowing for extra skills and additional buffs. Its flexibility makes it perfect for customized builds.

Monk:

Invoker: Embrace elemental powers and inflict status effects. A melee-focused elemental option, perfect for those who want a blend of close-quarters combat and elemental abilities.
Acolyte of Chayula: Harness shadow powers, offering defensive, healing, and reality-warping abilities for increased damage. A unique option for shadow-based gameplay.

Ranger:

Deadeye: Enhance ranged combat with increased speed, damage, and accuracy. Skills like Eagle Eyes and Called Shots provide significant advantages. Excellent for archers seeking peak performance.
Pathfinder: Master poison and elemental damage with abilities like Poisonous Concoction and Contagious Contamination. A refreshing alternative for those seeking a non-traditional ranged approach.

Sorceress:

Stormweaver: Elevate elemental abilities with Elemental Storm and increased damage. A solid choice for players who enjoy elemental magic and want a powerful upgrade.
Chronomancer: Manipulate time to control cooldowns and alter the flow of battle. Ideal for strategic players who enjoy dynamic combat.

Warrior:

Titan: Maximize damage and tankiness with increased defense and powerful attacks. Skills like Stone Skin and Crushing Impacts make this a formidable choice for players who enjoy a tank-like playstyle.
Warbringer: Summon Ancestral Spirits and Totems for support and additional damage. A great option for players who want a melee build with summoned allies.

Witch:

Blood Mage: Drain life from enemies for self-healing and increased damage from lingering wounds. A unique option for players who like life-draining mechanics.
Infernalist: Summon a Hellhound and shapeshift into a powerful demon form for fire damage. A strong choice for players who enjoy fire-based damage and minion allies.
