Genshin Impact Leak Hints at Wriothesley Rerun in Version 5.4
A recent leak suggests Wriothesley's return to Genshin Impact's Event Banners in Version 5.4, marking over a year since his initial release. This news comes amidst ongoing concerns about the game's banner schedule, struggling to accommodate its ever-growing roster of over 90 playable characters. With limited rerun slots and an average of one new 5-star character per patch, providing fair rerun opportunities for all characters proves challenging.
While the Chronicled Banner aimed to alleviate this issue, its effectiveness remains debated. The extended wait for Shenhe's rerun (over 600 days) highlights the system's limitations. Until the introduction of triple banners, extended rerun wait times are likely to persist.
Wriothesley, a Cryo Catalyst introduced in Version 4.1, exemplifies this problem. His absence from Event Banners since November 8, 2023, has left many players eager for his return. The leak, originating from Flying Flame, indicates a potential appearance in Version 5.4. This rumor gains some credibility considering the recent Spiral Abyss buff that benefits Wriothesley's playstyle.
However, caution is warranted. Flying Flame's track record regarding Natlan leaks is inconsistent. While their prediction of a new Chronicled Banner in Version 5.3 proved accurate, other leaks have been inaccurate.
Version 5.4 is also anticipated to introduce Mizuki, potentially Inazuma's first Standard Banner character. If the leak holds true, and Mizuki and Wriothesley share the Event Banners, the remaining 5-star slot might feature either Furina or Venti, the only Archons yet to receive sequential reruns. Version 5.4's projected launch date is February 12, 2025.
