• Find the Signal Source: Prepare for a challenging encounter. The objective marker leads to a cave entrance near the water. Navigate the western caverns, utilizing a broken pipe for vertical traversal. Locate the emitter near a large cone-shaped spire. An invisible enemy awaits on your return journey.

Finally, report back to Professor Lodochka to complete the mission, unlocking "Hornet's Nest" as the next main objective. While the optional objective doesn't offer unique rewards, completing it significantly eases the main mission's difficulty.
