Following the success of Helldivers 2, Arrowhead Studios has hinted at a new game

Arrowhead Studios, fresh off the resounding success of Helldivers 2 (released last year to rave reviews), is currently developing a new, ambitious game concept. Creative director Johan Pilestedt took to social media, announcing work on a "high-concept" project and inviting fan input.

The response was diverse, ranging from a Smash TV remake to Star Fox-inspired titles. Pilestedt acknowledged prior internal consideration of a Smash TV remake and even mentioned a Star Fox-esque project within the "rail shooter" genre.

While specifics remain confidential, Arrowhead's community engagement is evident. Helldivers 2's success—a standout title of 2024—sets a high standard for their next endeavor.

A recent Helldivers 2 update, including the long-awaited Illuminate enemy faction, the 4x4 Fast Recon Vehicle, and new urban warfare maps, has significantly boosted player numbers on PS5. The surprise release of "Omens of Tyranny" at the 2024 Game Awards further fueled this resurgence. Player reception to these additions has been overwhelmingly positive.

With the added boost from the update and rumors of a Killzone crossover, Helldivers 2 is poised for continued success in 2025.
