Home > News > SwitchArcade Round-Up: Reviews Featuring ‘Fitness Boxing feat. Hatsune Miku’, Plus New Releases, Sales, and Good-Byes
Farewell, SwitchArcade Round-Up Readers! This is my final regular column, marking the end of a multi-year run. While I'll miss covering the Switch's evolution, I'm excited for new opportunities. This week's roundup includes reviews of Fitness Boxing feat. HATSUNE MIKU, Magical Delicacy, Aero The Acro-Bat 2, and Metro Quester | Osaka, plus summaries of recent releases and the usual sales lists. Let's jump in!
Imagineer's Fitness Boxing series continues with a Hatsune Miku collaboration. This Joy-Con-only title blends boxing and rhythm game mechanics for daily workouts, mini-games, and more. Miku's songs get a dedicated mode, alongside the game's standard tracks. The game offers difficulty options, free training, and progress tracking, along with unlockable cosmetics. While the music is excellent, the main instructor's voice felt a bit jarring. Best enjoyed as part of a broader fitness routine rather than as your sole workout.
SwitchArcade Score: 4/5
Magical Delicacy blends Metroidvania exploration with cooking and crafting. Play as Flora, a young witch, in a charming and mysterious story. The exploration is well-executed, despite some frustrating backtracking. Inventory management and the UI could use improvement. The game shines with its pixel art visuals, music, and customizable settings. While the Switch version plays well, minor frame pacing issues were noted. A promising title that could benefit from future updates.
SwitchArcade Score: 4/5
A polished sequel to the classic platformer, Aero The Acro-Bat 2, features improved gameplay over its predecessor, though some might find it less quirky. Ratalaika's enhanced emulation wrapper includes extras like box scans, achievements, and a sprite gallery. Only the Super NES version is included, which is a minor drawback. A solid release for fans of the series and retro platformers.
SwitchArcade Score: 3.5/5
A prequel to Metro Quester, this expansion-like title introduces a new Osaka setting, dungeon, characters, and challenges. The turn-based combat and top-down exploration remain, demanding careful planning. A rewarding experience for fans of the original and a great entry point for newcomers.
