Sydney Sweeney, known for her role in *Madame Web*, is set to star in the upcoming movie adaptation of Hazelight's game *Split Fiction*. The project, which was first announced last month, is being spearheaded by Story Kitchen, the studio behind the successful Sonic film franchise. According to Variety, the film is taking shape with *Wicked* director Jon M. Chu at the helm, and the script penned by *Deadpool & Wolverine* screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Story Kitchen is now actively seeking a studio partner, anticipating a competitive bidding war.

While Sweeney is confirmed to play one of the sisters, Zoe or Mio, the specific role has yet to be determined. *Split Fiction*, which only launched in March, has already proven to be a massive hit for Hazelight and designer Josef Fares, selling over 2 million copies in its first week. The game has also been announced as a launch title for the Nintendo Switch 2.

IGN's review of *Split Fiction* awarded it a 9/10, praising its innovative co-op gameplay that seamlessly blends various genres, making it a challenging game to step away from. Hazelight's success doesn't stop there; another of its titles, *It Takes Two*, which sold 23 million copies, is also being adapted into a film potentially starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

While there's always a chance these adaptations may not come to fruition, the current trend of successful video game movies suggests a strong interest from Hollywood. Last year, Story Kitchen also announced a film adaptation of Square Enix's *Just Cause*, with *Blue Beetle* director Ángel Manuel Soto attached. The company is also working on adaptations of *Dredge: The Movie*, *Kingmakers*, *Sleeping Dogs*, and even a live-action *Toys 'R' Us* movie.

Meanwhile, Hazelight is already teasing its next game, keeping fans eagerly anticipating what's next from the acclaimed studio.
