The Dying Light: Retouched update will introduce enhanced graphics and remastered sound design to Techland's acclaimed zombie parkour adventure on PC and consoles tomorrow – though Nintendo Switch owners won't receive this upgrade.

Yesterday, the studio detailed this complimentary update that revitalizes their decade-old post-apocalyptic title. Players can expect improved textures, dynamic lighting, and completely rebuilt audio on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S platforms. Notably absent is any version for Nintendo Switch.

When questioned about potential Switch support, Techland confirmed to IGN that no plans exist for Nintendo's platform. "The Dying Light: Retouched Update is not coming to Nintendo Switch," a studio representative stated via email.

The Platinum Edition bundle arrived on Nintendo's hybrid console in 2021, though its availability was impacted by a German sales restriction affecting digital purchases across several regions. Current Switch owners also shouldn't anticipate a Switch 2 version anytime soon.

"We're entirely focused on developing Dying Light: The Beast for its August 22, 2025 launch on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S," Techland explained. "We have no announcements regarding Nintendo Switch 2 at this stage."

This leaves Switch players with only the original Platinum Edition. The cloud-based Dying Light 2: Stay Human port, announced in 2021 but never materialized, remains in limbo with no updates on its potential release.

The upcoming spinoff Dying Light: The Beast will also skip Nintendo platforms when it debuts on August 22. While franchise director Tymon Smektała expressed interest in eventual Switch 2 support to Wccftech, no concrete plans currently exist.

Dying Light: Retouched launches tomorrow with numerous improvements. For complete details, visit Techland's official blog post here, or revisit our original 8.5/10 review of the base game.
