Short Circuit Studio has recently unveiled an exciting new update for their newly launched settlement builder, TownsFolk. Titled "Shadows and Fortune," this update introduces a darker tone to the already charming pixel-art adventure, bringing a wealth of new mechanics to explore.

Even though TownsFolk is fresh on the scene, the developers are not holding back on enriching the game's depth. The latest update introduces new buildings and challenges that promise to invigorate your gameplay experience. One notable addition is the roaming Barbarians, which will add an element of tension to your campaign missions and Skirmish mode. Alongside these threats, you'll have the opportunity to construct eight new structures: the Altar, the Town Square, the Blacksmith, the Aqueduct, the Bank, the Granary, the Factory, and the Terraformer.

The water tiles in the game are also receiving a "fishy" update with the introduction of the rare Whale, enhancing the exploration aspect. Special Locations add an extra layer of unpredictability to your adventures, featuring ancient Obelisks and new Shipwrecks.

ytTo help you navigate through these new elements, a handy Compendium acts as an in-game encyclopedia, keeping track of all the new additions. The Exploration System has been revamped, and you can now adjust Campaign Difficulties between Frontier and Survival modes to tailor your experience.
