What is Snap Recap?

New for 2024, Snap Recap compiles your Snapchat memories into a short video. It selects a single snap to represent each month, offering a visual journey through your year. This isn't a detailed statistical breakdown; it's a curated collection of moments. The recap seamlessly transitions into your Memories, allowing you to explore past events.

How to Access Your 2024 Snap Recap

Accessing your recap is simple:

1. On the main Snapchat camera screen, swipe up to access Memories (don't press the shutter button).
2. Your 2024 Snap Recap will be prominently displayed as a highlighted video.

Tap the recap (avoiding the share icon) to play. The video automatically plays through your monthly selections. You can tap the screen to skip ahead. Like any other Snap, you can save, edit, share, or add it to your Story.

Why You Might Not See a Recap

If your Snap Recap isn't appearing, don't worry. Snapchat is rolling it out gradually. Several factors influence whether a recap is generated, including the number of saved Snaps. Consistent Snapchat use and frequent photo/video sharing increase your chances of receiving one. Unfortunately, requesting a recap if it doesn't generate is not currently possible.
