Nightmare Crownless, a potent Nightmare Echo in Honkai: Star Rail's Wuthering Waves, boasts enhanced Havoc and Basic Attack DMG. This guide details how to unlock it. Unlike standard Echoes, obtaining Nightmare Crownless requires completing a specific quest and an additional step.

Obtaining Nightmare Crownless: A Step-by-Step Guide

1. Unlocking Ruins Where Shadows Roam: This isn't a typical quest; it's accessed via the Exploration Progress menu for the Penitent's End region in Rinascita. Locate this menu by opening your map and selecting the compass icon in the upper left.

2. Completing Ruins Where Shadows Roam and Quest of Faith: This quest is intertwined with "Quest of Faith," an optional quest involving four enemy defeats within Penitent's End. Initiate "Quest of Faith" by interacting with the prompt near the circular arena adjacent to the Resonance Beacon (located across the broken bridge in Wailing Ascent). This triggers a battle against a Questless Knight.

3. Defeating the Questless Knight: To defeat the Knight, lure it near a lit Macabre Torch within the arena. Reignite extinguished torches by using Fae Ignis enemies. Avoid using high-damage skills near the torches to prevent accidental extinguishment.

4. Locating the Dream Patrols: After completing both "Ruins Where Shadows Roam" and "Quest of Faith," locate all four Dream Patrols in Penitent's End. Their locations are shown in the image below. While completing these patrols isn't mandatory for unlocking Nightmare Crownless, doing so provides additional resources and Monnaie.

5. Unlocking Nightmare Crownless's Spawn Point: Once all four Dream Patrols are located, Nightmare Crownless will appear on your map within the ruins north of Penitent's End.

Important Note: Nightmare Echoes utilize Enhanced Absorption charges, significantly boosting Echo drop rates. Players receive only 15 charges weekly, so prioritize their use efficiently.
