Sarah Jessica Parker Hints at Hocus Pocus 3 Talks

Hocus Pocus 3 appears to be inching closer to reality, though its release timeline remains uncertain. Sarah Jessica Parker recently addressed the project, suggesting Disney might still greenlight the sequel.

"While nothing's confirmed, we're eager to make it happen," the Sex and the City star shared with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live. "Discussions are currently underway."

The 1993 cult classic, directed by Kenny Ortega with a script by Neil Cuthbert and horror legend Mick Garris, became a defining movie for 90s kids worldwide. This comedy-horror gem follows three villainous sister witches who target a small town's children after being accidentally resurrected on Halloween night.

Original stars Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Parker all reprised their iconic roles in 2022's Hocus Pocus 2. Disney officially confirmed the trilogy's completion in 2023 through Sean Bailey, president of motion picture production, who also announced director Anne Fletcher and screenwriter Jen D'Angelo would return.

Development has seemingly progressed slowly since the announcement. Midler recently shared she's heard "early rumblings" about the project during a July 2024 appearance on Busy This Week. "If they plan to do this, they should move quickly," the actress quipped. "Time isn't just passing - it's sprinting toward the finish line. Film us while we're still above ground!"

Given that no fan wants a Sanderson Sisters-less sequel, Midler's urgency certainly makes sense.
