God of War's Renowned Glauco Longhi Suggests New IPSpeculated to be a Sci-Fi Game

Esteemed God of War character artist and game developer Glauco Longhi has hinted that the prestigious studio behind the celebrated series, Santa Monica Studio, is embarking on a new game IP. This revelation stems from Longhi's LinkedIn profile, where he rejoined the Sony-owned studio earlier this year to oversee character development on an "unannounced project."
Longhi's illustrious career with Santa Monica Studio includes God of War (2018) and culminated in his role as lead character artist on God of War Ragnarok. Longhi alluded to the studio presenting him with the opportunity to return and supervise the project's "character development pipeline."
"Supervising and directing character development on an unannounced project, while collaborating with the studio to continuously elevate the bar for character development in videogames," reads Longhi's updated profile.

There have been rumors about Santa Monica Studio working on a novel sci-fi IP, potentially led by Stig Asmussen, the accomplished creative director of God of War 3. However, this has neither been verified nor officially announced by the developers. Earlier this year, Sony was reported to have registered "Intergalactic The Heretic Prophet," but no further details have been shared by the company since then. Several years ago, the studio was previously associated with a mysterious project for the PS4, which was rumored to explore the sci-fi genre, but ultimately believed to be discontinued.
