Alan Wake 2 developers want to become “Europe's Naughty Dog”

Remedy Entertainment aims to be a leading force in the gaming industry, drawing inspiration from Naughty Dog, particularly the Uncharted series. Alan Wake 2 director Kyle Rowley, in a Behind The Voice podcast interview, stated their ambition to be "the European equivalent" of the acclaimed studio.

This influence is clear in Alan Wake 2's cinematic presentation, praised for its stunning visuals and compelling narrative. The game's success has cemented Remedy's status as a top European developer.

Remedy's aspirations extend beyond the horror genre. Naughty Dog's mastery of cinematic single-player experiences, exemplified by Uncharted and The Last of Us (the latter a highly decorated franchise), serves as a benchmark.

Alan Wake 2, even over a year post-launch, continues to receive updates. A recent update enhances gameplay across all platforms, most notably optimizing the PS5 Pro experience. A new "Balanced" graphics option combines the strengths of the PS5 Pro Performance and Quality modes.

These improvements also include minor adjustments to graphic settings for smoother framerates and reduced image noise, alongside bug fixes impacting gameplay, particularly within the Lake House expansion.
