Mastering the Lady Vengeance: A Divinity: Original Sin 2 Guide to Setting Sail
Having escaped Fort Joy and removed your Source collar, you're aboard the Elven ship, Lady Vengeance, in Divinity: Original Sin 2. Your goal: get this unconventional vessel moving. This guide details how to solve the puzzle and set sail.
Investigating the Ship's Deck
The solution is spread across the ship. Start by looting the magister and geist corpses on deck. A Sodden Diary on one corpse contains a password. You can also obtain the password to a stateroom door via a skill check. In addition to the password, you'll need a Strange Gem.
A magic mirror (south of the staterooms) allows unlimited respecs for your party – useful if you need to boost skills for the password check.
Accessing the Portside Stateroom
With the password and Strange Gem, you can access the ship's quarters. Interact with the unconscious Bishop Alexander to find the Strange Gem ("Look closely at his simple Regalia"). Use the gem and password ("Fortitude") on the southern stateroom door to enter Magister Dallis' cabin. This cabin also contains a hidden hatch with two dangerous gheists and a Teleportation Prism.
Finding the Ancient Empire Songbook
In Dallis' cabin, speak to Tarquin and Dallis extensively. The Ancient Empire Songbook is on a pedestal in the center of the room. Reading it reveals the song needed to move the ship.
It's advisable to speak to all NPCs before setting sail, as opportunities to interact with them will be lost once the ship departs.
Setting Sail
Tell Malady you found the songbook. She'll ask you to sing it. Find the dragon figurine on the west side of the deck and choose the option to sing. Lady Vengeance will begin to move. Be prepared for an immediate ambush from powerful magisters – ensure your party is ready for a challenging battle.
