Freedom Wars Remastered allows players to equip two weapons of their choice for each Operation. With six weapon types available, players can tailor their character to any preferred playstyle. Three are melee weapons and three are ranged weapons, all customizable. Here's a breakdown of each weapon type and its unique characteristics:
Freedom Wars Remastered Weapon Types
The six weapon types are acquired through Operations or purchased from Zakka in The Warren. While Comrade weapon choices are fixed, Accessory weapons are fully customizable. Switching weapons incurs no penalties.

Light Melee | Fast attacks, ideal for single-target engagements. Can sever Abductor limbs without a Flare Knife. |
Heavy Melee | Wide-swinging attacks, high damage potential. Well-placed attacks hit multiple Abductor limbs for increased damage. Charged attacks launch the user into the air. Slightly reduces movement speed. |
Polearm | Attacks involve charging through enemies, useful for maintaining distance. Charged attacks launch the polearm for high damage from a safe distance. |
Assault Weapons | High ammo capacity, perfect for gun-focused builds. Can be fired while grappled with your Thorne. |
Portable Artillery | High single-shot damage, low ammo capacity. Explosive area-of-effect shots can hit multiple limbs. Reduces movement speed. |
Autocannons | High rate of fire, large ammo capacity and magazine size. Individual shots have lower damage, but the high fire rate compensates. Reduces movement speed. |
Note: Accessories using gun weapons do not consume ammo.
