Assassin's Creed Shadows Art Book Leaks on a Hentai Site, of All Places

New details about the highly anticipated Assassin's Creed Shadows have surfaced online following a leak of an artbook titled "The Art of Assassin's Creed Shadows." The leak, which originated from a site known for hosting hentai, has spread rapidly across the internet, including on r/GamingLeaksAndRumours. The artbook contains hundreds of pages showcasing concept art, quotations, and development insights into the next installment of the Assassin's Creed series. Although the gallery was quickly removed from the initial site, it has been archived and shared on various file-sharing platforms and galleries. IGN has reached out to Ubisoft for a statement regarding this unusual leak.

The leaked artbook reveals several intriguing elements, including concepts for historical figures, significant cities, and an array of weapons. There are also potential plot spoilers, although these cannot be verified until the game's release. The timing of the leak is notable, coming just ahead of Assassin's Creed Shadows' scheduled launch on March 20, 2025, after a delay pushed it from 2024 to February and then to March.

During a recent preview event for Assassin's Creed Shadows, IGN had the opportunity to speak with game director Charles Benoit. He explained that the delay was primarily to polish the game, with minor updates to the progression system to enhance engagement and balance. However, the main focus was on refining the parkour system, which faced challenges due to the unique architecture of Feudal Japan.

"The Japanese architecture, the roofs [are] super complex," Benoit stated. "Probably the most complex thing that I ever worked with if we compared to Odyssey and Syndicate. We needed specific codes and specific animations to support something super fluid, changing the transition of the parkour to make it even more fluid. So that's one of the specific feedback that we heard that we wanted to address, and it really improved since the last few months."
