According to Aliena Analytics analyst Rhys Elliott and Geoff Keighley, host of Gamescom Opening Night Live, the indie climbing game Peak has officially surpassed 10 million copies sold.

Elliott initially reported the sales milestone in his Monday newsletter, noting the game sold 1.7 million copies last week and was projected to cross the 10 million mark on Tuesday. Keighley later confirmed the 10 million figure live onstage. Peak becomes the second indie game released in 2025 to achieve this, following R.E.P.O., which has sold 16.8 million copies.

Peak has enjoyed remarkable success on Steam since its June launch, consistently ranking among the platform's most-played titles. As of this writing, SteamDB data shows approximately 88,000 concurrent players, placing it just above Naraka: Bladepoint and slightly below GTA V.

Its popularity surged further last week when a price drop from $7.99 to $4.95, coinciding with the new Mesa update, drove a sharp increase in sales and player count. Per Alinea Analytics, the game hit 171,000 concurrent users on Sunday, with 1.3 million total players throughout the day.

Developed by Aggro Crab, Peak is a cooperative survival climbing game where up to four players scale a mountain together, navigating obstacles and managing their stamina. The game's explosive popularity has spawned numerous Roblox imitations, prompting the developer to state on social media that they would prefer players pirate Peak rather than engage with "microtransaction-riddled Roblox slop ripoffs."
