The REPO team is refining its difficulty progression by introducing new mechanics every 10 levels. Discover the upcoming changes to the Overcharge system and insights from the developers during the game’s open beta phase.
REPO’s recent open beta provided critical player feedback, spotlighting the Overcharge mechanic for refinement, according to developer Semiwork.
The Overcharge feature lets players grab and hurl enemies onto surfaces or away from allies. However, this ability is governed by an overcharge meter, which, when full, triggers an explosive consequence for the player.

Originally available from the start, the Overcharge mechanic will now activate at level 10. The developers also plan to roll out new difficulty-enhancing features at levels 20, 30, and beyond, with Overcharge serving as the first of these tiered challenges.
These mechanics will integrate with the game’s narrative, as Semiwork explained, "This system will tie into the lore, giving it purpose beyond a mere gimmick. More details will be shared soon."

During the open beta, Semiwork developers joined random matches to interact with players and gather insights on potential improvements. Pontus Sundstrom, a Semiwork developer, expressed excitement about seeing players enjoy the new additions.
Sundstrom shared, "I’ve played alongside many of you incognito through random matchmaking on the servers, asking questions to understand what you find enjoyable."
Semiwork is committed to enhancing REPO based on community feedback from the open beta. Players can expect exciting updates, with more details promised soon. Stay informed about R.E.P.O.’s latest developments by checking out our article below!
